Extra eyes, not a neighborhood watch franchise

You want someone to look. A lot after a game. A walk to a car. A second person on a public block. That is extra eyes. It is not a badge, not a patrol schedule, and not Fargo Police.

Say what you actually mean

Walk through a West Acres lot with me. Stand at a union door until my ride shows. Look at a bike rack on campus while I run inside. Those are neighbor-sized. “Patrol my block every night” is not, and Help Me will not pretend we run that.

Police remain police

Crime, threats, someone in danger — 911, Fargo Police, Moorhead Police, West Fargo Police, campus public safety. Community watch on this site is extra eyes from an approved helper who accepted a specific ask. It is not a neighborhood-watch organization, not a vigilante board, and not a substitute for a report to the city.

How the product still works

One request, two hours if nobody accepts, private chat if someone does. Coarse map. Public places. Report and block. Helpers need a current staff-reviewed approval of identity evidence — not a background check, not a security license. If what you want is official, use official.

Questions people actually ask

Is this an official neighborhood watch?

No. Help Me does not run a watch program. It is a one-off ask to an approved neighbor.

Can I report a crime here instead of to police?

No. Report crimes to police. You can also report and block people in the app for product safety.

Will helpers sit in a car outside my house?

Do not ask for that. Meet in public. Surveillance of a private home is not this product.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
