Help Me

The small stuff

The block is lit and still feels long. You want a second pair of feet, not a squad car. That is a walk with someone: a neighbor, a public sidewalk, a destination you both understand.

Short answer

On Help Me you can ask a neighbor to walk with you on a public route in Fargo, West Fargo, or Moorhead. It is company, not a patrol. A neighbor is not a guard, an officer, or an official campus escort. If someone is in danger, call 911. Campus public safety offices run official escorts.

The facts, in one place

  • It is company on a public route, not a patrol.
  • Meet in a public place and walk a public route.
  • Official campus escorts go through campus public safety.
  • In danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Public ground, two people, one destination

Downtown Broadway. A stretch from a library to a lot. A walk from a bus stop to a lit door. You post the ask and a neighbor can say yes. A private chat opens, you meet in a public place, and you walk a public route. If someone is following you or threatening you, call 911 first. Help Me is the everyday version of company.

  • A walk from a library to a parking lot.
  • A stretch from a bus stop to your door.
  • Company on a long, dark block.

This is not a patrol

Help Me does not dispatch security. Helpers are not guards, not off-duty officers, and not a watch program. They are neighbors who applied and were reviewed by our team, and who said they could walk with someone. Helpers can apply to be reviewed by our team. Help Me does not run background checks. Leave if anything feels off. You can report or block any member at any time.

Campus walks have an official option

NDSU Police, MSUM Public Safety, and Concordia Public Safety run official campus escort programs. Use those when you want the institution. A walk with someone through Help Me is a neighbor favor, not campus police.

Help Me is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Questions people actually ask

No. If you are in danger, call 911. A walk with someone is everyday company on a public route.

The open map shows a rough area about 500 meters wide. Exact sharing is opt-in after someone says yes, and only with that person.

Call NDSU Police, MSUM Public Safety, or Concordia Public Safety. Help Me is not those offices.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
