Why it is private
A public list of who needs help turns a bad morning into a permanent record. Offers are short-lived and aimed, so your request reaches the people who could plausibly show up and nobody else. There is nothing to scroll and nothing to browse.
What makes a yes more likely
Timing and place. Near a campus in the evening, more people are awake and nearby than in a quiet part of the metro at three in the morning. Choosing the right category matters too, because who sees your request is filtered by it. Help Me does not promise anyone will be nearby.

What happens after a yes
A private chat opens between you and that one neighbor, and you decide what location to share and where to meet. Both of you confirm it is done. Helpers can apply to be reviewed by our team. Help Me does not run background checks. You can report or block any member at any time.
Help Me is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
