Stuck with a bike
The Red River trails are genuinely good, right up until a tube goes on the far end of one.
Short answer
Bike help on Help Me means small, immediate things: a hand getting a chain back on, a pump, or company walking a bike back to a road. Repairs belong at a bike shop, and Help Me is not a rideshare — nobody is arranging a vehicle to come collect you or your bike.
The facts, in one place
- Small trailside help only: a pump, a chain, a hand.
- Repairs go to a bike shop, not a stranger.
- Not a rideshare — no vehicle pickups are arranged.
- Carry a tube and a pump on the longer trail sections.
The trail reality
The paved trail system along the Red River is long, pleasant, and in places genuinely remote from a parking lot. A flat two miles in means a long walk. Carrying a spare tube, a pump, and a multi-tool is the difference between an annoyance and an afternoon.
Winter and shoulder season
Bike commuting happens here year-round for a determined minority, and the hazards change: black ice, plowed windrows blocking crossings, and dark by five. Lights and studded tires do more for you than any app can.
Questions people actually ask
Can someone drive my bike home?
No. Help Me does not arrange rides or transport for people or property.
Can I ask for a repair?
A chain or a tube with your own tools, maybe. Actual repair work belongs at a shop.

answer
What can I actually ask for?
Everyday, non-emergency help: a jump start, a hand lifting something, directions, a walk to your car, printing, tech help, or a study session in Fargo–Moorhead.
Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
