A flat tire, a spare, a neighbor — not a shop

The car lists. The lot is West Acres or an NDSU ramp or 13th Avenue in the wind. Someone nearby might have a jack and the patience to use yours. That is not a tire store, and it will not mount a new set.

What a neighbor can actually do

Help you put on the spare you already have. Hold a flashlight. Lend a jack if theirs fits. Stand there so you are not alone in a commercial lot. They are not a mobile tire tech. They may not have a compressor. They should not be expected to plug a sidewall at night in January.

Shops and tows still exist

No spare, damaged rim, on a live roadway, in a blizzard — that is a shop or a tow. Help Me will not dispatch one. If the car is a hazard, if someone is hurt, 911. A public grocery lot is a better place to work than a travel lane. Say that in the sentence when you post.

Questions people actually ask

Will a helper bring a new tire?

Do not expect that. A neighbor might help with your spare. A shop sells tires. Help Me is not a shop.

What if I have no spare?

Call a tow or a shop. A helper cannot invent a tire, and they are not on a commercial hook.

Is a flat on I-29 a Help Me ask?

A live highway is a hazard. Use official roadside help or 911 if you are in danger. A public lot is the right geography for a neighbor.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
