Can I pay someone who helps me?

There is no payment button, and that is a design decision rather than a missing feature.

Short answer

No. Help Me does not process payments, tips, or fees of any kind. Helpers are approved community members offering everyday help, not contractors taking a job. If you want to thank someone in a parking lot, that is between two adults — the app does not mediate it, track it, or take a cut.

Why money is not in the loop

The moment a task carries a price, the question changes from would someone stop for me to what is this worth. Payment also drags in tax, liability, and worker-classification questions that a neighbor with jumper cables should never have to think about.

What to ask for instead

Ask for the small, finishable thing. A jump start. A hand with a couch. Someone to walk beside you to a car at eleven at night. If what you need is a paid trade — a licensed electrician, a tow truck, a mover — hire one. Help Me is not that and will not pretend to be.

Questions people actually ask

Can a helper ask me for money?

No. Soliciting payment is not what the platform is for. Report it if it happens.

What about gas money for a long drive?

That is a sign the request is too big for the app. Requests should be small, local, and finishable.

Help Me is a community app for adults in Fargo–Moorhead. It is not a K–12 student program, not a youth chat, and not campus police.
