What a gig app does, and what Help Me does not
Gig platforms connect a buyer with a worker, set a price, and take a cut. Help Me does none of that. There is no price to set, no worker to hire, and nothing to take a cut of. The thing being asked for is usually five minutes of someone's day: cables on a battery, an arm under a box.
Why that matters
The moment a favor carries a price, the question changes from would someone stop for me to what is this worth. Payment also brings tax, liability, and worker-classification questions that a neighbor with jumper cables should never have to think about. Keeping money out keeps it simple.

Hire one. A licensed electrician, a tow truck, a mover. Help Me is not that, and will not pretend to be. Helpers can apply to be reviewed by our team. Help Me does not run background checks. You can report or block any member at any time.
Help Me is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
