Learn the river first

The Red River is the state line. Fargo and West Fargo are Cass County, North Dakota. Moorhead and Dilworth are Clay County, Minnesota. People cross for class, work, and groceries without thinking — until they need a county office. 911 still works. Other services do not.

The map you will actually use

Downtown Broadway is the walkable strip. West Acres is the big mall on the west side. NDSU sits in north Fargo. MSUM and Concordia sit in Moorhead, minutes apart. M State has a Moorhead campus. West Fargo is its own city, not a Fargo neighborhood — Sheyenne Street, Veterans Boulevard, a city calendar of its own.

• Save 911, and save 211 for everything that is help but not an ambulance.
• Get a library card at Fargo Public Library if you live in Fargo — three buildings, one system.
• MATBUS crosses the river. Check matbus.com before you assume a Saturday night bus.
• Meet new people in public. Help Me will show a coarse area, not your first apartment.

Directions. A jump start. A walk from a lot you cannot yet name. A study table when you do not have a group chat. Official campus and city events in one Community tab, each attributed to NDSU, MSUM, Concordia, M State, West Fargo, or Ticketmaster Fargo.

It will not replace Fargo Police, a landlord, a bank, or your first winter coat. Download TestFlight, iOS 15 or later, and ask in a sentence when the day stalls.
