answer
How do I report a problem or a person?
In-app first for people, email for everything else, 911 for anything criminal.
Short answer
Report and block are one tap away in every request — reporting sends context to staff, blocking ends contact immediately. For bugs, account problems, or anything outside a request, email support@helpme.fyi and a person will read it. If a crime happened or you were in danger, call 911 first and police non-emergency after.
The facts, in one place
- Report goes to staff; block is immediate and personal.
- Reports can affect whether someone keeps a current approval.
- Reporting is not a police report and does not dispatch anyone.
- support@helpme.fyi is read by a human.
What makes a report useful
Specifics. What was said or done, where, and when. Staff can see the request the report is attached to, which is exactly why in-app reporting beats a screenshot sent from somewhere else.
Reporting is not policing
Staff can end an approval, not investigate a crime. If something illegal happened, the report belongs to police in the city where it happened — Fargo, West Fargo, or Moorhead — and 911 if it is still happening.
Step by step
1. Get safe first
If you are in danger, leave and call 911. Reporting inside an app is not an emergency channel.
2. Block from the request
Blocking takes effect immediately and stops future matching between the two of you.
3. Report with context
Send the report from the request so staff see what it is attached to.
4. Email for anything else
support@helpme.fyi for bugs, account issues, or a follow-up. A person answers.
Questions people actually ask
Will I hear back about a report?
Outcomes about another person’s account are private. Staff act on reports; they do not narrate them.
Can I report without blocking?
Yes. They are separate actions and you can use either one alone.
